Maldon Youth Orchestra to play for Queen’s Birthday celebration

Evening Sunset Parade and Lighting Ceremony, Amphitheatre, Promenade Park, Maldon – 21 April – 7pm until 8.30pm

The evening of Thursday 21 April will see a whole host of uniformed organisations marking Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th birthday with a parade followed by the lighting of a special beacon at the Amphitheatre, Promenade Park, Maldon.

The event will start at 7pm in the Amphitheatre with Maldon Youth Orchestra playing a selection of music. At 7.45pm there will be a uniformed parade by some of our local cadet forces and other services to the Amphitheatre, then just before 8pm, God Save The Queen will be played by the Maldon Youth Orchestra.

Cllr Peter Elliott, Chairman of Maldon District Council, will read a special message from His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales and will then light the specially produced beacon on top of the Amphitheatre. Bagpiper William Wallace will then plays a selection of songs whilst the beacon burns and as people leave the Amphitheatre.
